Anyone can Meditate
I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard people say, I’m not very good at meditating, or I can’t meditate, or words to that effect. It’s nonsense. Anyone can meditate. Admittedly, you have to want to do it, and it’s no good if you don’t, but with very few exceptions, anyone can do it, and almost everyone who does will gain some benefit from it.
Anyone can meditate. And arguably, everyone should meditate. And the good thing is, meditation is as simple as just sitting, just breathing, or even just being. It requires no special ability, and you don’t need to have superhuman powers of concentration either. But it does require practice, and a certain amount of motivation.
But the good news is, meditation is something that almost anybody can do. Moreover, nearly everybody who tries it gains some positive benefit from doing so. Even just one session can make you feel calmer and more relaxed afterwards. Those who persevere often find that it contributes to a happier, healthier life – in all sorts of ways.
Hopefully, if we stick at it, we will learn to see things more clearly and thereby grow in awareness, which in turn will make us better people and the world around us a better place.
That’s the point of meditation. And you don’t have to be good at it. You just have to do it. And best of all, it works, even when you think nothing is happening.
